Seniors are a vital part of our society.
Seniors bring with them are a wealth of knowledge, stories, experiences,
and life. Terms like elderly, infirm, retired or aged, are not terms
that should be used with modern seniors. Seniors today are encouraged
to live with a strong sense of self, with dignity and pride. Golden
Years Services is designed to respect the needs, activities, and
lives of the senior. Working with seniors, their families, friends
and caregivers, GYS will provide its seniors with the services and
activities to stay socially active and engaged both physically and
mentally whether in their own home or with family.
Daily
Check-ins (5 day program)
Call to the senior
to check general state of health, prescriptions, and upcoming medical
appts., dental.... Five day with the potential to be a seven day
program if required by a limited number of seniors.

Programs
(Monday to Thursday, unless at special request)
Social time, special
outings, special meals, events, crafts, arts, movie days, gardening,
exercise, and this service gives seniors an opportunity to get out
of their own homes and interact with other seniors in a home setting.
- Mid-day meals
for the Day Program are designed to be well-balanced, dinner
meals. (Salad, soup, main course with meat/fish, vegetables
and dessert)

Retreat
/ Respite (Short term, low medical needs)
Providing seniors with a family setting for a weekend, or a week on the Mountain in a home away from home. This service is designed to allow seniors living with family or friends to come and stay when their primary caregivers are away. It allows seniors with low medical needs to come and stay while participating in family-life. This is a short stay service only.

Seminars
GYS is
open to developing educational seminars on topics of interest to
seniors and their families/caregivers. The topics could be brought
forward by the senior, their family/caregiver or the team of GYS.
If the GYS team has the expertise and knowledge, the seminar would
be done by ourselves. If experts were needed to present the topic,
GYS would invite in the appropriate people. These events would be
open to all seniors and their families.
